As a desert region, the Tri-Cities area enjoys a relatively mild climate with an abundance of sunny days each year. All three cities, Kennewick, Pasco and Richland are located on the beautiful Columbia River. It is also where the Yakima and Snake Rivers empty into the Columbia. The Tri-cities has world class Medical and Health Care Facilities – Trios Southridge Hospital and Health Care Center, plus Tri-Cities Cancer Center, both located in Kennewick. Kadlec Hospital Medical Center in Richland and Lourdes Hospital and Medical Center in Pasco.
Kennewick is the largest city in the Tri-Cities. Known as the retail and commercial center of the area, homeowners can enjoy the Columbia Center, southeastern Washington’s largest regional mall. There is the Toyota Center and Three River Convention Center that is the home of the Tri-Cities Americans, of the Western Hockey League, and several Broadway Musicals and big name acts. Columbia Park is the Mid -Columbia’s premier outdoor gathering place along the Columbia River, hosting several events throughout the year including the Water Follies Hydroplane Boat Races and Air Show. The annual July Fire Works Display is also a big event for the Tri-city residence.
Known for years as the Agriculture Capital of the state, producing potato’s[ most likely the fries you ate today came from Pasco], onions and many other farm products come from the Pasco area. Through the years Pasco has become one of the states fastest growing area with several new affordable housing communities. You will find an abundance of small horse ranches and equestrian estates in the Pasco area. The Tri-Cities Airport is located in Pasco and is home to Alaska, Delta, Untied and Allegiant Air. No longer do the residents of the Tri-Cities have the drive to Portland or Seattle to catch flights.
